Soak It Up!
Soak It Up!
ACRWC’s Green Stormwater Infrastructure Program
In our region stormwater has become gradually more extreme and damaging. A collective effort - involving multiple homeowners as well as municipalities and businesses - to manage the effects of runoff from rain can reduce the impact of storms on our communities. “Green” stormwater management refers to lower-tech and fairly affordable measures that focus on the benefits of plantings.
Addison County River Watch offers FREE “green” stormwater site visits to your home or business to help slow down, spread out, and soak up stormwater. Our goals are to reduce erosion and water pollution.
If you are interested in learning more about stormwater and how you can be part of the effort to soak it up, send us an email at acrwcvt@gmail.com or through our contact form.
Uncontrolled stormwater damages roads, municipal water systems, and aquatic ecosystems, but together we can help slow it down and soak it up! Green stormwater solutions could include rain gardens, bioswales, rain barrels, mini meadows, and more. Find more information about green stormwater here.

River Watch staff can visit your home, land, or business and talk in-depth about residential stormwater solutions and what may be best for you and your yard. If you are interested in a site visit, please reach out via email at acrwcvt@gmail.com. These visits are free and are generally 30-45 minutes long.
